OpenPlant Modeler Help

Updated Workflows in CONNECT Edition

PlantSight

PlantSight is Next Generation Cloud Platform for Digital Workflows which:
  • Persists iModels and historical ChangeSets
    • Download/upload local copies of iModels (complete/filtered)
    • Pull/Push ChangeSets
  • Subscribe to changes
  • Turns the iModel into a distributed database

In the CONNECT Edition, we have deprecated the Project Database V8i and Data Manager V8i in favor of new cloud services named PlantSight. OpenPlant PID now synchronizes the PID data to the iModelHub in PlantSight, making the data available to OpenPlant Modeler as well. The following diagram illustrates how this integration works:

To enable PlantSight, the WorkSpace/Workset needs to be associated with a cloud based CONNECTED Project. This process is done using the OpenPlant Project Administrator. Creating a new CONNECTED Project in PlantSight automatically provisions a PlantSight iModel. Project data is Checked In/Out from the iModel and is available to multiple users with access to the project. For details on how to create a CONNECTED project in PlantSight, refer to the OpenPlant Project Administrator help.

A new cloud-based data management service will now replace the functionality that was previously found in the Data Manager.

New Ribbon Interface

The task-based interface in V8i has been replaced with a new familiar ribbon menu interface that is easy to navigate and features a powerful search function that allows you to quickly and easily find any command you need.

New Configuration System
